5BBC Montauk Century - Not an RBC event (Sun, May 20, 2012)

This is the granddaddy of the rides to Montauk. There are 65 and 100 mile options, or the big challenge of a 145 mile ride from Penn Station to Montauk. The flat Long Island terrain and the extreme likelihood of tail winds make this the easiest 145 miles you will ever ride. Who wouldn't ride the extra five miles to make it a nice, round 150?

There are well-stocked rest areas about every 25 miles along the way, and showers and a meal at the end. The organizers transport a bag for you so you can shower and change at the end. Then you can choose to put your bike on a truck while you ride the train back to the start.

This event is sponsored by the Five Boro Bicycle Club. You can see more information at their web site: www.5bbc.org.

This is not an RBC event.
