Today we had a solid group of four riders for the A ride. Mark D., Daniel, Derick and I started down Rt. 202 from Kakiat Park at a brisk pace. We took 17 to the Sterling Mine Rd. ramp. Mark was riding his tri bike for the first time in months so his climbing game wasn't up to par today, but when he went into the aero tuck on the downhills and flats he was a blur. We worked the rollers of LMR hard, taking turns pulling through the considerable headwinds. I took the lead on the climb up 106 with Derick and Daniel in very close pursuit. We regrouped at Kanawauke and continued up 106 together. At the WGR/Gate Hill rd. fork we met my wife and daughters waiting for the lead GF riders to come by. We waited for a while, but we realized we were a bit too early. We continued down to Call Hollow and  made the turn onto 202. Mark got out front the whole way down 202 to Kakiat and pulled the group at a fantastic rate of speed.

We had a great ride and managed to stay together and push each other for a great workout. After the ride Derick drove me back up to the top of WGR where I watched the GF riders cresting Gate Hill. My wife got some great pics of the leaders and my girls loved cheering on the riders.

Here's a link to a pic my wife took of the leaders:

Ian is being much too generous. I don't think I significantly pulled at all. This was a day where my cardio and lung systems were fine but my legs weren't listening. My system could have done 10 more bpm but my quads couldn't back it up.

It was a great ride and I had a blast drafting downhill behind Mark on 17M. The 106 climb from 17M is always fun as well.

Ian, could you please email me any of your wife's photos in which I appear?
