We had quite a crowd for the ride. Paul, Arthur, Ernie, Rebecca, Alan, Doreen, Dave, Gail and of course myself! There were not many people on the trail this early in the morning which was nice for us because we could ride at a nice pace and still take in all the scenery. Which by the way took a bit of a beating. You could see where the trees had fallen on the trail and in the woods. The trail was clear of trees but there was a lot of debris (leaves, twigs, gravel). There were also quite a few wet spots and a many new waterfalls. The day was beautiful and we enjoyed the ride and of course the view from the Croton Reservoir Bridge. At Yorktown, Paul, Arthur, Rebecca, Alan and Doreen opted to stop and visit Turco's to replenish their liquids and get some nourishment. Yummy!

Dave, Gail Ernie and myself wanted to see if we could make it to Carmel as we had heard the road might be closed. Go figure! So we pushed on and just as we came to the biggest puddle I have ever seen I was wondering if I should have stopped at Yorktown. Dave and Ernie rode through the water, Gail and I took off our shoes and socks and walked through. Let me tell you that water is cold!! But after that we had smooth sailing all the way up to Carmel and the trail is all finished and really nice. Gail knew of a nice place to stop and eat in Carmel called George's, right next to the Lake. Good food and at the right price.

As we headed back I noticed the trail was getting a little crowded in spots but then it would open up and there would be no one on the trail. Sweet!!  The big puddle was there on the way back but we all opted to ride through it (slowly), and since it was getting a little warmer the cool water felt nice.We ended up with 58 miles which was more than I expected and it was a really nice ride.

    Thanks for riding everyone.

The 5 of us stoped at Turcos, had a nice breakfast, coffee, and some great comversation.  Then we headed back to Tarrytown.  The ride back was uneventful, which is good.  About halfway back, the path goes onto Route 100.  At that point, I kicked it up a notch and took off...it was nice to be moving at about 30 mph...After regrouping at the next entrance to the path, we made it back the last 5 miles.

We ended up with about 33 miles for the day.  It was a great day to be out.  Thanks to everyone for a great time.
