Six of us met before 8AM at the south parking lot of Rock Lake for the cleanup. There was Arthur, Cheryl, Gene, his grandson Derek (?) , Pat and myself. We made our way to Route 9W, and made that familiar turn south. We couldn't believe that people just throw all kinds of junk out onto the road from their cars.
We were met on Route 9W by Steve, Rita and Sandy, and we all continued to pick up the junk.
The most unusual item that we found, besides a dead, flattened possum with its teeth bared in a permanent snarl, was a set of metal shelves.
After about 1½ hours, and maybe 25 bags of junk, we went back to the cars for coffee and donuts.
Thanks to everyone for giving up part of their morning for a worthy cause.
